This book is a Latvian Folk Tale that Anda Banikos has translated and illustrated. The songs and stories of the Latvian people have provided constant folkloric threads in the fabric of their changing society. They have been passed by the storytellers of one generation to the next. This beautiful book is now on our display table.

WELCOME TO 2011
Living Books
In April 2009 we participated in the Promcoast SeaChange Festival with a Living Book Event and we'll be doing the same this coming April. We already have a number of people who are prepared to be a Living Book for this event and we are looking for a few others. These are photographs of the event in 2009 and this document describes a Living Book Event and a Living Book, just in case you're wondering.
Those who participated in 2009 said it was a memorable event and one of those people will be taking part again this year. We'd love to hear from anyone interested, we will be advertising in the local newspaper, The Mirorr, later in January.
